Faye Douthit Williams passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital Chattanooga. Faye was born in Blanche, TN, Lincoln County on October 8, 1939 to Bill and Vangie Douthit. She attended Middle Tennessee State University where she majored in chemistry. While there she met her husband, Mike. They settled in Chattanooga where they raised their family. Faye was a very talented lady and seamstress. She wanted to share her talent with others. She started a sewing school at Chandler Fabrics where she taught couture garment fitting and gave sewing and tailoring lessons. In 1981 she partnered with her dear friend, Sandra Metts, and opened Chattanooga’s Sewing Machine Center, a very successful business partner and educator until her retirement in 2015. She was fortunate to be able to travel throughout the world on business trips and seminars. She loved her role as educator and taught countless individuals to share her love of sewing.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Mike and sister, Gail.
She is survived by her daughter Candyce and husband Louie, grandsons, Nathaniel and Zachary, son, Boyd, granddaughter, Rhiana and several great grandchildren, brothers Dan, Jack, Charles, Phillip (Chuck) and several nieces and nephews.
