Fay Dolores Opper, 89, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Supportive Living of Washington.
Fay was born in Mossville, IL, to Herman and Wanda (Hendryx) Karrick on August 4, 1931. She married Donald Opper in December 1948 in Washington, IL. She later married Francis (Duffy) Duffield in 1978.
Fay is survived by seven of her ten children: Judy Donigian of Columbia, MO; Melody (Bob) Fulton of Rockport TX; Debbie (Malcolm) Kinsinger of Washington, IL; Teresa (Jeff) Porzelius of Gridley, IL; Steve (Carolyn) Opper of Metamora, IL; Elcine Opper of Peoria, AZ; Greg (Andrea) Opper of Fort Collins, CO. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Fay devoted her life to her family, friends, and many others. She worked in sales for a number of years, but found her niche as a home caregiver for 20 years in Sun City, Arizona. She enjoyed cross-stitching and took pride in giving away her treasures at family reunions. She made creative scrap-booking memory albums for all of her children, where she poured hours of love and creativity into each one. She had a love for music and enjoyed dancing every opportunity she had.
The family would like to thank the staff of Supportive Living of Washington and Transitions Hospice for the tender care they gave to our mother.
