Farrell Michael (Mike) Merrill passed away peacefully at his home on October 30, 2022 surrounded by his family. Mike was born October 18, 1943 in Logan, Utah to Farrell and Lois Merrill.

He grew up in Ogden, but spent his youth on his grandparents farms in Millville, Utah and Preston, Idaho.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1961 at the age of 16, and served aboard the U.S.S. St Paul during the Vietnam conflict. After fulfilling his four years of service, he was honorably discharged. Returning home he started with Swift meat packing and also worked for the US Government at D.D.O.U and HAFB until his retirement.

He married Sidnee Joy Burns on March 29, 1965. Together they had four children. They were married for 39 years. After Sid’s passing, he married Julia Dustin on July 1, 2005. He gained a step-daughter.

Mike’s personality was larger than life and he had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his children, camping in the Utah mountains. He loved tinkering in his garage, he always said “If I can’t fix it, it can’t be fixed.” He had a special love for Jeeps and Motorcycles.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sidnee and granddaughter Allison.

He is survived by his wife, Julia, his four children: Shayne (Jolene) Merrill, Kim (Mark) Neeley, Kris (Jeff) Mager, and Tony (Kaylee) Merrill. His step-daughter Erin (Lee) Blankenship, 33 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren brother Gregory (Vickie) Merrill.

The family would like to thank the nurses Tammy and Korie for their tender care in his last days.
