Pocatello – Farrell Lish Green, 93, longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away late Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Idaho State Veterans Home from causes incident to age. He was born July 21, 1921 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, a son of Erban and Sarah Fairzina Lish Green Orgill.

He attended schools in McCammon, Idaho and graduated from McCammon High School in 1939. Farrell participated in various sports including football, wrestling and baseball.

He served in the U.S Army in Europe during World War II in France, Germany and Austria. Following his discharge in 1946, he returned to McCammon and attended vocational trade school at the University of Idaho Southern Branch now (I.S.U.) to learn the carpenter trade. He worked in 9 states through the Carpenters Union for 34 years working mostly for Cahoon Construction and Mitchell Construction Company. On September 15, 1949, he married Anna L. Roth in Pocatello. Anna passed away January 27, 2008.

He enjoyed sports and supported I.S.U. Athletics and local high school teams. In 63 years he missed only two I.S.U. home football games. He also attended ISU basketball (both men and woman) and volleyball games. He could usually be seen sitting next to his friend Gay Hudson.

Farrell will always be remember for the help he was to his neighbors. He cared for a neighbor with MS for many years.
