Fannie M. Merritt Drummond, 66 of Rt. 4 Bridgeport went to meet her husband in heaven on Sunday, November 15, 2009 with her loving family by her side after a long battle with cancer. She was born May 9, 1943 in Ocean mines, Harrison County, a daughter of the late Everett Merritt and Charlotte Hatten Merritt of Simpson, WV. She was united in Marriage on June 28th 1960 to Roy Junior Drummond whom preceded her in death on January 11, 2007.
She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Fannie was a homemaker and protestant by faith.
Fannie is survived by one son whom she resided with, Junior Ray Drummond of Bridgeport, four daughters; Carol Duley and husband Tom of Simpson, WV, in which Tom is currently on deployment and serving in Iraq, Patty Ann Smith and husband Gregory of Philippi, Virginia Ann Board and husband Rick of Grafton and Mary Jane Drummond of Oakland, MD; Eleven Grandchildren, Donna and Joey Duley, Nicole Devericks, Christopher Drummond and Joshua Smith, Christina, Amanda and J.T. Mayle, Albert, Jeffery and David Everson; three great-grandchildren, Donavon, Detiny and Laiken; three sisters; Mary Bartlett and husband Carl of Simpson, Virginia Smith and husband James of Ashland, KY, Violet Teets of Simpson and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her dad and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Violet Louise and Nancy Mae Drummond; infant grandson Steven Ray Smith; one sister, Catherine McKinney.
