Fannie E. Freudenburg, 81, of Cassopolis, a strong and courageous woman, died with dignity Saturday, March 17, 2012, in Cass County Medical Care Facility in Cassopolis. She was born in Melvin, Illinois on June 19, 1930 to William and Myrtle (Foreman) Geegan. Fannie married Daniel Freudenburg in Dowagiac on March 4, 1949. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2008. She was also preceded by her parents, two sisters and one brother. She was a founding member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Cassopolis, and active in a variety of ways.
She loved to socialize and was a friend to everyone she met, finding good in every person. Fannie served as a Deputy Sheriff for Cass County. She had also served as the LaGrange Township Treasurer.
Fannie is survived by one daughter, Patty (Ken) Wiggins of Osceola, Indiana and two sons, Roger (Jennella) Freudenburg of Bloomfield, New Mexico, and Rodney (Jill) Freudenburg of Mattawan; six grandchildren, Michael (Buffy) Freudenburg of Niles, Brianne (Nate) Leslie of North Liberty, Indiana, Lucas (Jillian) Freudenburg of Portage, Sarah (David) Chapman of Warren, Colin Bontrager of Elkhart and Shannon (fiance’ Kevin Sprissler) Bontrager of Devon, Pennsylvania; six great grandchildren; sister, Ada Kirtenbach of Orlando, Florida; and two brothers, Charles (Margaret) Geegan of Dowagiac, and Francis Eugene (Margie) Geegan of Three Rivers.
