Mr. Famous Theodore Floyd of Tampa was called to eternal rest and to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 27, 2021. At last, his mind, body and soul were free from this world of pain and sorrow.
Mr. Famous Theodore Floyd was a lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida born to the late Henry Floyd and Sarah William Floyd. He was baptized at Mt. Zion A.M.E.
Mr. Floyd attended the Public Schools of Hillsborough County which included the historical Doberville Elementary and Booker T. Washington Junior/High School.
In 1945 he returned home and began working for Florida Steel and later, Tampa Electric Company. During his 29 years with TECO he received numerous awards and recognitions for his leadership and work ethic. He retired from TECO in 1986.
Famous enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, listening to music, playing the guitar and home improvement projects, but he never hesitated to assist his family, friends, and neighbors with their projects as well. Although he kept busy with others, he never neglected his immediate and extended family.
He was a loving husband and caring father who always took advantage of a teachable moment and a time to pass on lessons of life. Unselfishly, he cared for his mother, mother-in law, aunt, friends, and his loving wife of 64 years, Mrs. Eunice Celeste Floyd, during their stages of declining health.
