Norwich – Faith V. Jones 86, of Laurel Hill Road died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at her son’s home in Norwich.
She was born August 21, 1927 in Big Springs, West Virginia daughter of the late Clarence and Della (Snider) Haddox. She was the youngest of 10 children. Faith attended Ayers Grammer School (a one room school house) and graduated from Grantsville High School. Mrs. Jones continued on to obtain a 6 year degree in education from the University of Connecticut. She taught for many years in the Norwich Public School System, many of those years as a kindergarten teacher at Veterans Memorial.
On July 16, 1951 she was united in marriage to Marvin P. Jones, Sr. of Norwich at St. Patrick’s Church in Norwich. Mr. Jones predeceased his wife of 40 years on October 26, 1991.
Faith is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Marvin P. Jones, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Preston and Robert Jones and his wife Bettina of Norwich, four grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Lance, Elizabeth, Rachael and Kristen, one beloved brother Donald Haddox of Raceland, KY, a niece Janet Parmelee and a nephew Richard Fike and several other nieces and nephews in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Florida.
