Faith Melodie Stearns, age 62, of Newnan, GA passed away peacefully on July 26, 2019 after battling cancer. She was born on June 11, 1957 in Oneonta, NY to Charles John Sheldon and Irmabelle (Beers) Sheldon and grew up on a small dairy farm in Otego, NY. She joined the U.S. Air Force in 1976, working in aircraft maintenance, where she met her husband Glen. She received her Associates degrees in Business and Accounting from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Faith worked at a quilt shop and then was the church secretary of East Newnan Baptist Church for many years. She loved music and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and was an avid quilter. Faith was known for her kind and thoughtful spirit. She believed in always leaving a place better than she found it, and truly this world is a better place for her being in it. She will be greatly missed. Faith is survived by her husband of 41 years, Glen Stearns; children Carleen Stearns and Trista Ashok; grandchildren, Riley and Kacie Ashok; mother Irmabelle Sheldon; several brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews and extended family.
