Fabiola A. “Viola” Gurule, a devoted wife and beloved mother passed away peacefully at home on December 15th, 2020 after a lengthy illness. She was 81 years of age.
Viola was born in Ojo Feliz, New Mexico. She was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1957.
Viola was an activist and involved in her community early in life. She and her “late” husband Henry helped establish the Pueblo Charros Association. She served on the Fiesta Day Board of Directors as well as being the Fiesta Day Coordinator. Additionally, she was extensively involved in the efforts in commemorating Colorado’s Centennial and the Nation’s Bi-Centennial Celebration.
Her entire career consisted of being a Bookkeeper for Alamo, Inc. and Schuster’s Printing.
Viola was the wife of the “late” Henry Gurule. She is the beloved mother of Kathy, Arthur and his wife Kim, Mark and his wife Debbie, Darryl and his husband Michael.
Viola is the grandmother of Michael, Justin, Elana, Tanner, Sierra, Jeremy, Taylor, Marcus, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
