F. Wayne Sexton, 88, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at the IU Health Hospice House with his family by his side. Wayne was born January 27, 1927, in Bloomington to the late Ross and Millie (Butcher) Sexton.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II and retired after many years from Indiana University where he worked in the Halls of Residence. Wayne was a member of the Westside Assembly of God Church and loved to help others out with odd jobs, painting, and carpentry. He also enjoyed visiting the shut-ins of the church. Wayne especially enjoyed the time he spent with his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Doris (Aker) Sexton of Bloomington, two children, Laura Baugh and Dennis Sexton (Sally) both of Bloomington, 4 grandchildren; Angela Butcher, Clint Baugh, Nathanael Sexton, and Caleb Sexton, 2 great-grandchildren; Cody Butcher, and Rylan Baugh, one sister Janet Bowman (Ron) of Summerville, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Norma Jean Sexton, and 3 brothers; William Floyd Sexton, Roscoe Sexton, and Edward Eugene Sexton.
