Excell Henry Gauthreaux’s life long journey began when he was born into time on June 20, 1967, to the proud parents, Mr. Henry William Gauthreaux and Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Gauthreaux. Baby Excell was a special gift from God to our family. He was the first child of two and was born in Chicago, Illinois.
Excell graduated June 1984 from John Whistler Grammar school in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Illinois in 1988 and was the graduating class King. He also attended Prairie State Jr. College in Chicago Heights, Illinois (2004 and 2005).
Excell has participated in the Illinois Special Olympics (1975 to 2010) and Arizona Special Olympics (2011 to 2019) and received metals for his winnings in Track & Field, Soft Ball Throw, Long Jump, Volleyball, Basketball and Bowling. He also had a great love to shop for bracelets and baseball caps, as well as, taking pictures with girls. LOL
Excell enjoyed his participation as an actor with the SSSRA Drama Group in Park Forest, Illinois in the 1990’s and early 2000’s, as well as, the Detour Company Theatre Group (2014 to 2018).
Excell won the heart of everyone he came in contact with because of his Award winning SMILE. Everyone who has met Excell looks for his SMILE, which lights their heart.
Excell was born into eternity October 8, 2019. He leaves to carry on his memory, his father, Henry: his mother, Frances: his sister, Deidra: his brother-in-law, Michael (Cuzzo): his Nephews, Xavier (Jovonne) and Isaiah; his Great Nephews, Adriel and Aiden; his Great Niece, Audrey; his Grandmother, Oberia Coleman; his Great Aunt Juanita Wynne; Several cousins and a host of relatives and friends, as well as, attentive and loving care providers (Tawatha, nurse; Stephanie, Marolyn, Ms. Laurie, Ariel and Pam).
