Ewell D. Cora, 74, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011, at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Elkhart on October 3, 1937, to the late John and Ruth (Hawkins) Cora, and later married Bertie Vance on December 21, 1981, in Elkhart. She survives at home.
Also surviving are daughters Michelle Firkins and Lee Ann (Troy) Bruncz, both of Elkhart, Barbara (Skip) Wilson of Marion and Jo Ann Cora of South Bend; sons Robert (Debbie) Cora of Marion and Mark Chandler of Elkhart; brother Carl Cora of Elkhart; sister Lucille (Ray) Culbertson of White Pigeon, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded by son-in-law Cory Firkins; sons Ewell Cora Jr. and Mark Chandler; brother John Cora; and sister Virginia Seal.
