Everette Eugene Gene Sergent, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, May, 2, 2014 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was born on May 24, 1953 in Ocala, Florida where he graduated from high school and attended college. He spent many years living and working in Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Gene was dedicated to and respected within the nuclear industry. He received many awards and accolades, most recently The Star Award from Urenco, USA, where he was employed at the time of his death. He also enjoyed volunteer work, especially Urencos 911 service projects.
Gene was an avid gunsmith and firearms collector. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting and scuba diving. He was very handy he never passed up an opportunity to fix something.
