Everett D. Young, known as “Eric” by his family and “Huggie” by many friends was the first born to the late Charles Harris and Barbara Ann Lee Young on August 31, 1968 in Lawrence County, Alabama. He departed this life on Sunday, December 28, 2014.
Eric attended school in Moulton and later attended and graduated from Mt. Hope High School in 1987. He was employed by Joe Wheeler EMC 25 years. He confessed to Christ at an early age and joined Town Creek No. 1 M.B. in Landersville, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents W.C. and Minnie Gholston who raised him after his mother’s death, grandparents Alvin and Gemima Lee.
He leaves to cherish found memory: his devoted and caring wife, Veronica L. Young of Decatur, Alabama; daughter, Te’a “Mae” Pegues, Decatur, Alabama; brother, Leander R. Young (Twanna) of Decatur, Alabama; sisters, Stephanie Young Johnson of Decatur, Alabama, Rhonda Young Stewart (Joseph) of Harvest, Alabama, LaShawna Regina Young of Orange, Texas; six nieces, Kiara and Leandra Young, DeMya and Mariah Johnson, Aysia Bouldin, Aneshia Griffin; mother-in-law, Lola Mosely of Decatur, Alabama; father-in-law, Thomas Griffin; sister-in-law, Vanessa Griffin; three close friends, Bobby Robinson, Donald Orr and Michael Cosby and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
