Everett S. Richey, 86, of Anderson, passed away on November 26, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
He was born on May 13, 1928 in Shelbyville, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson. Everett graduated from Charles Major High School in Shelbyville and Purdue University. He was a retired Pharmacist from Hook’s/Revco Drug Store. He was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association. Everett was very interested in scientific development, enjoyed water-color/acrylic painting, loved to travel, and was an avid dog lover.
He was known for his gentleness, kindness, acceptance of others, and his unique, quirky sense of humor. He loved a good meal and never wanted a single morsel to “go to waste.” He worked hard for his family and in turn, he celebrated with them in all of their accomplishments. He showed never-ending loyalty to his hometown of Shelbyville and for his Purdue Boilermakers.
Everett is survived by his wife, Linda (Gilson) Richey; daughter, Karen (Michael) Finnigan of Anderson; grandsons, Christopher (Stephanie) Finnigan, Alex Finnigan, and Matthew Finnigan; siblings, Clyde W. Richey and Lucille Coleman; sisters-in-law, Becky Atkinson, Janet Nolton, and Phyllis Moneyhun; brother-in-law, John Gilson. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
