Everett Lee “Pete” Moran, 72 of Grafton, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Grafton, April 18, 1949, son of the late Fred Lee and Goldie Marguerite Corley Moran, Pete is survived by his devoted and loving wife of forty-nine years, Linda Martin Moran.

Pete graduated from Grafton High School, Class of 1968. He worked at Southern Steel as a welder for over thirty- seven years. Pete enjoyed the outdoors, going hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a member of the Taylor County Boat Club for over forty years where they spent lots of time cooking and telling stories around the campfire. Pete enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. He loved the time he spent with his children and grandchildren making memories as they shared their time together.

In addition to his wife Pete is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Ann Thorn (Tracy Lewis) Havelock, NC, Jeanne lea Moran, husband, J.R. Alcorn) Bridgeport, Sarah Renea Glover (Andrew) Shinnston, Evalalah Brooke Alcorn and Fiance’ Zach Leasock, Winchester, VA. Jacob Ryan and Thomas Jon Thorn Havelock, NC,  one brother Charles “Bill” Moran (Deb), Illinois, honorary daughter Becky Phillips (Scott), Thornton, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by seven sisters, Betty Lee Everly, Beatrice “Sweetie” Boyce, Lucille Boyce, Elsie Gennette, Lucretta Stewart, Deloris Taylor, Barbara Utt,  a special sister in-law, Shirley Moran who he thought of as a second Mother, four brothers, Fred Moran, Jr, Robert “Red” Moran, Herman L. Moran, and Ralph H. Moran.

The family thanks WV Caring Hospice, Amber, Vickie, and Stephanie for all the special care they gave Pete and the support they gave the family.
