Everett Earle Gerths, age 77, died Friday November 7, 2014. Moe was born and May 4, 1937, the son of Earle and Flossie (Checkel) Gerths and raised on a farm in Dodge Center, MN. In high school he was active in baseball, basketball, and football. Moe graduated in 1955 with a football scholarship to the University of Minnesota. He majored in Biochemistry and Soils and played left guard and middle linebacker for the Gophers. After graduating in 1959, he served in the Army Reserves for six months. His career took him to Minneapolis, St. Louis, Iran, and Pensacola, FL working as plant manager for ADM, Ashland, Spencer Kellogg, Reichold, and also as an environmental consultant.
