Mrs. Evelyn Cangemillo Jackson, Passed away on December 8, 2011. Born April 1, 1928. She was the only child of Elsie Gough Cangemillo Hildebrandt and Lucien Cangemillo and life long resident of New Orleans. Evelyn graduated from St. Anthony of Padeo and John McDonnough High School Class of 1946. She was married for 60 years to the love of her life, the late Frank Joseph Jackson. Mrs. Jackson raised her family in the Gentilly Woods Neighborhood. For the past 35 years has resided in Metairie. Evelyn Jackson was the owner of The Party House in Chalmette, Louisiana for 32 years, until Hurricane Katrina flooded her family business. She got together with the girls she graduated high school with every year to celebrate their class reunion. For over 40 years, Evelyn and her “Eggers” met once a week to decorate emu and ostrage eggs. They won numerous ribbons at Egg Shows through the years. She was a regular at Mr. Ed’s Restaurant. She loved Ed McIntyre and his staff like family.Evelyn was the mother of Frank M. Jackson of Slidell, Brian Jackson of Cumming, Georgia, and David Jackson. Beloved Grandmother of Christy Jackson Laird, Lori, Dana, Abby, Ryan, Amanda and Kyle Jackson. And Great Grandmother to Reagan and Tatum Laird. She also leaves behind daughter -in- law Calla Jones Jackson of Slidell, grand son in-law Wayne E. Laird Jr., God daughter Vicki Chumney Powell, Rob Morrill, and Angel Martin Trenchard.Evelyn lived a long and happy life. She traveled the world. She had wonderful life long friends and went on vacation every summer with her three boys and their families.
