Evelyn A. Schwender, 94, of Highland Park, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
She lived for many years in the Buffalo NY area, where she was born, until retiring to Seminole FL in the early 1970s. She moved to Highland Park several years ago. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Flexlume Sign Company in Buffalo and later as a medical receptionist for Dr. Victor Anjo in Tonawanda NY.
Evelyn was predeceased by both her first husband, Raymond C. Getzin, and her second husband, Clayton Schwender.
She is survived by her son, Donald R. Getzin of Highland Park; two stepsons, James Schwender of Pittsford, NY, and Charles Schwender of Glen Gardner, NJ; two grandsons, Jeffrey H. Getzin of Boonton Township, NJ, and Andrew R. Getzin of Ithaca, NY and three great-grandchildren, Zoe, Lucy, and Quentin Getzin, all of Ithaca, NY.
