Evelyn S. Garlick Turner “Evvie” of Milford, CT passed away on August 9, 2022 at the age of 69 surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Catherine Garlick; her sister and beloved friend, Marianne Downey; and niece, Ronda Lynn Swan. She is survived by her children, Paul Turner Jr. and girlfriend, Laura, and Holly Turner-Moore and husband, Sean, of Milford, CT; her former spouse, Paul Turner Sr.; and her grandchildren, Kaya, Kayden, Beilen and Braelyn Turner and Clayton Moore.
Evvie also leaves behind her 9 siblings, Catherine Hildreth-Reed, Christine Garlick, Joanne Kirby, Pamela Nicholson, Raymond, Timothy, Donald, Michael and Daniel Garlick; and many adoring nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly missed by her furred and feathered friends, Teddy and Hercules.
Evelyn’s greatest passion was her grandchildren to whom she was affectionately referred to as Uma. To them, she has always been the Captain of Adventure, their greatest cheerleader, most avid supporter, and loving defender. A lifelong fixture at Woodmont beaches in Milford, CT, Evelyn could be found on any given day enjoying the beach with her grandchildren, sharing her passion for nature, family fishing, sea glass collecting, or just waiting for a good storm to roll in off the Sound. If Evvie wasn’t at the beach, you could find her gardening, or curled up with a good book. We will all miss her open home, quick wit, fishing knot lessons, and holidays with stuffed celery and scalloped potatoes.
