LEICESTER – Evelyn Pearl (Fontaine) Swett, 88, formerly of Springfield and Upton, died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 in Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a period of declining health. She was the widow of William P. Swett, who died in 1992, and had been a resident of The Meadows of Leicester for the past several years.
Mrs. Swett was born in Springfield, a daughter of the late Phillias and Evelina (LaBrecque) Fontaine. She was a stitcher at the Buxton Company in Agawam for many years before retiring and coming to Upton about 25 years ago.
She leaves one sister, Doris Jerrold of Arcadia, FL; a brother, Philip Fontaine of Alpharetta, GA; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Kern, and a sister, Irene Fontaine.
