Mrs. Evelyn McAfee Owens was born February 1, 1922, to the late Emmitt and Verna Young McAfee in Lawrence County, Alabama. She departed this life on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Trevecca Health Care Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Owens confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church in Moulton. She later moved to Nashville, TN, where she attended True Vine Baptist Church faithfully. She was married to the late Willard Owens and to this union two children were born, a son, Millard and a daughter, the late Annie Love.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Emmaline McAfee.
Mrs. Owens leaves to cherish her memory: a son, Millard Owens of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren, Angela Donelson (David), David “Reggie” Love, Andre Love (Linda), Kimberly Whitlow-Okeke (Innocent), Tony Whitlow (Sonya), Samantha Prysock, all of Nashville, TN and Milletta Robinson of Virginia; eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Wonda Wilson (Lee) of Cleveland, OH; sister-in-law, Bessie M. Owens of Moulton, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
