Morean was born in Sterling to A. Elton and Vera Davis on December 26, 1920. They lived in Padroni where she attended school through the 8th grade, she then attended Sterling High School and graduated in 1938 as salutatorian of her class. She married Garrett Felzien in 1941 while he was in the Navy.
After his discharge they farmed in the Fyffe Community. They were married for 60 years until Garrett’s death in 2000.
Morean was a member of the Highway-Fyffe Home Demonstration Club. She organized the Highway-Fyffe dance Band. They played for many charitable events in the area. She was well known for her talent playing the accordion and violin and gave accordion lessons for many years. In addition, she directed her students in accordion bands which played in the Logan County Fair parade, and which entered competition in Denver for several years. Morean also played her keyboard at Devonshire Acres for 35 years and entertained for various other events.
She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 30 years and served as Treasurer for 10 years. Morean was the chairperson for the Tax Training for the Elderly in Northeastern Colorado for 25 years in addition to preparing free tax returns for the organization. Morean was an active member of Quota Club of Sterling for many years and was awarded an international honor with that organization.
She was an involved member for many years of First English Lutheran Church and later a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Morean’s biggest enjoyments in life after her family and many friends were playing bridge, music, traveling and her garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband Garrett, her parents Elton and Vera Davis, brothers Orval Davis and Willis Davis. She is survived by her sons Larry Lee (Polly) Felzien of Greenwood Village, CO.,
Rodney (Susan) Felzien of Boulder, grandson Jesse (Kelsey) Felzien of Parker and several nieces and nephews.
