Evelyn Marie Kautzer, 100 of Boulder, died Monday, December 19, 2016 at her residence.
Evelyn was born on the Brick Homestead Dairy Farm in Askeaton, WI. She was the first child born to Lilly (Burns) and Ed Brick. Evelyn knew from the time she was a little girl that she wanted to be a nurse. She attended the University of MN and St. Catherine’s School of Nursing, graduating with honors. She started her nursing career in Public Health. It was in so doing that she met and fell in love with Hal Kautzer. Hal and Evelyn were married in 1946. Hal passed suddenly in 1960. Evelyn moved the family to Colorado in 1968. She continued her nursing career working in geriatric nursing from 1968 until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Mary Patricia in infancy, son Harold, brothers John and James, sister Patricia.
She is survived by daughter Kathy (Clif), granddaughter Lily (Vineet), grandson Curran (Rachael), great granddaughter Laliah. She is further survived by son Tim (Cathy), daughter Carol, daughter in law Mary Giese.
