Anderson – Evelyn Louise Hopper Harlan, 84, passed away quietly at her residence the morning of August 17, 2002. She was born April 4, 1918 in Mulberry, IN, the daughter of Lionel Faye and Mable Bell Troxel Hopper.
Evelyn lived the majority of her life in Anderson but also resided in Kokomo and Huntington. She was a 1936 graduate of Anderson High School. In addition to raising five children, Evelyn worked at Delco Remy for 16 years before retiring in 1971.
She enjoyed traveling and camping and spent many enjoyable summers at Caps Marina in Vevay, IN. She will be deeply missed by her five children: Two sons: Michael wife Patty Harlan and James wife Catherine Harlan both of Anderson. Three daughters: Dixie husband Larry Gibson and Sharon Wright companion Jan Cox both of Anderson and Kathleen husband Howard Lehman of Ft. Wayne.
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Raymond O. Harlan. They were married on March 26, 1937 in a ceremony conducted by her father. She was also preceded in death by her parents: Lionel and Mable Troxel Hopper
