Evelyn “Judy” Hawk Nelms, age 73, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 of grade IV glioma, which she fought like a true warrior.
Born on October 14, 1947, in Newnan, GA to the late James Daniel Hawk and Evelyn Newman Hawk. Along with her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her son, Peter Anthony Smith. Judy was a caring yet strong woman and is a testament to what God-fearing, strong-willed, southern woman can achieve. Her family will lovingly carry on the lessons she instilled in them about hard work, perseverance through the trials of life, when to love firmly, when to love gently, and doing charitable works in secret. More people should be like Judy. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
Judy is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cutshall (Allen); grandchildren, Rocky (John), Pamela (Franklin), Brent (Emily), Tabitha (James), Jessica and great-grandchildren, McKayla, Alex, Breanna, Robert, Janie, Katie, Keylea, Aubrey, Brooklyn, Peyton, Charley, Franklin, Jr., Matthew, Colton, Journey and McKenzie.
