Evelyn E. Johnson was born march 28, 1916 in ensign, Michigan. She was the daughter of Waldemar and Hilma (Magnusson) Anderson. She married Melvin Jacobsen, a well-known local commercial fisherman, on may 19, 1934 in Gladstone at the German Lutheran church. She and Melvin had five children: Dolores (Gerald) Bink, Milwaukee; Leon (Susan) Jacobsen, New Berlin, WI; Donna (Fred) Beaudry, Florida; Mary (Richard) Chouinard, Gladstone; and son Michael (Nancie) Tyrone, GA. Who preceded her in death in 1999. Evelyn is further lovingly survived by 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Evelyn was from a family of 12 children. Her living siblings include Hazel Holm, Escanaba; Thora Greenlund, Gladstone; Grover Anderson, Gladstone; Anne Bert, Escanaba; Jane Gardner, Escanaba; and Eileen Schultz from California. Deceased siblings include Victor Anderson, Detroit; Rose Ericksen, Escanaba; Clara Anderson, Gladstone; James Anderson, Escanaba; and Myron Anderson from Escanaba.

In addition to her loving parents she is further deceased by her husband Melvin Jacobsen in February 1960. She married Harold Johnson in 1962 who preceded her in death in June of 1980.

She and Harold resided in Stonington after remodeling the Jacobsen home there.

Evelyn has several grandchildren who have preceded her in death. They include: infant Timothy Chouinard, Diane Jacobsen, Gerald (Jabe) Bink, and Freddie Beaudry.
