Evelyn Jean Thomas, 89, of Freeport, died February 3, 2013, at Freeport Rehabilitation & Care Center.
Born July 8, 1923 in Freeport she was the daughter of Henry and Florence (Powell) Caudle. She married Melvin L. Thomas January 1, 1946 and he died October 8, 2006.Evelyn was a graduate of Browns Business College.Her memberships include Deaconess & member of Dakota Community Church and their two circles, member White Shrine and Eastern Star, and Home Extension. She was a former Cub Scout Leader.
Surviving is her daughter, Mary Ann (David) Royer of Elburn, and grandchildren, Christina (Steve) Luxbacher of Franklin, Pennsylvania and Timothy (Teresa) Royer of Aurora; one son, Duane (Marcia) Thomas of Winfield, and grandchildren, Diana (James Lee) Thomas of Champaign , Lisa (Scott) Campbell of Little York; and Steve Thomas of Winfield; great grandchild, Kaitlin Luxbacher of Franklin, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Robert and Edward Caudle.
