Evelyn was employed as a registered nurse by the Saginaw Veterans Administration Center, the Midland Visiting Nurse Association and the Midland County Department of Public Health. As a public health nurse, she served the Sanford area until her retirement in 1990.
Evelyn is survived by her son Jeffery Thorp of Falls Church, VA and her brother John W. Young of Bloomfield, NY. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Harvey E. Young.
