Evelyn Ackermann Wiechert, age 95, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away September 29, 2022, peacefully at her assisted living home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was in the loving care of her amazing “angel” nurse, Anna Neiderman, RN, at Legacy Home Health and Hospice. She was surrounded by her loving family and attended to by the gentle and thoughtful caregivers from Morningstar Assisted Living.

She was born April 27, 1927, in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of August and Emma Rowold Ackermann. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred Ackermann McFall, Eldon Ackermann, Wayne Ackermann, and Eleanor Ackermann Valbracht.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Judy (Arny) Katz, of Albuquerque, NM; and grandchildren, Sheri Pearson (Terry O’Mara), of Albuquerque, NM; Lori (Steven) Aguilar, and their 2 children, Amberlyn and Ashley, of Albuquerque, NM; Brenda (Matt) Saiz, and their 3 children, Zachary, Cameron, and Noah, of Albuquerque, NM; and Jason Katz (Dr. Shana Nisenbaum) of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by her son, Kent (Katy) Wiechert, of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Brian Wiechert and Vanessa Wiechert, of Albuquerque, NM; Ryan (Jenny) Grandi and their 4 children, Kade, Devynn, Kam, and Kash of Gainesville, TX; Lisa Lariviere and her son, Lane, of Phoenix, AZ; and son, Trace, who preceded in death; Lori (Lane) Porter and their 3 children, Jeramy, Amber, and Jaxson, of Argyle, TX. She is also survived by her daughter, Janice (Bob) Guerrero, of Albuquerque, NM; and grandchild, Dr. Jessica (Jeremy) Highfill and their children, Logan, Maggie, and Beckett, of Jupiter, FL.

Evelyn cherished her family and was a Christian with a deep faith in Jesus Christ. She read from her Bible daily, and it gave her great comfort. She loved attending devotions each week.

Evelyn was very creative in her life as a homemaker. She loved playing the piano and organ, and she sewed like a pro.
