Evelyn F. Shaw(nee Clair), of Burlington, died Tuesday, June 28th at Samaritan Hospice Inpatient at Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly, she was 95 years of age. Born in Burlington on April 12, 1916, Evelyn has been a lifetime resident. She had been employed by the Burlington City Board of Education in the school cafeteria department for 23 years before retiring in 1986. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Baptist Home in Riverton, and also had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In her spare time Evelyn enjoyed doing needle work such as knitting and crocheting. Wife of the late John F. and mother of the late John H. Shaw, she is survived by her son and daughter in law: Herb (Gerry) Shaw of Delran her daughter; Patricia Shaw of Burlington and her daughter in law; Ann Michelle Shaw of Roebling.

She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses: John (Tina) Shaw, Terry (Phil) Grenier, Kim (Mike) Massey, Christy (Jeremy) Baar, Jennifer (Christopher) Budzyn, Michele (Josh) Sherlock, Jamie (Bill) Gilbo, Ryan (Aimee) Shaw; her great-grandchildren: Megan Shaw, Nick Shaw, Mike Shaw, Gavin Budzyn, Michael Massey, Alayna Gilbo, Gabrielle Baar, Emily Budzyn, Liam Gilbo, Sara Sherlock, Matthew Massey, Emma Baar, Laura Sherlock and her great-great-grandchild, Mackenzie McCormick. Evelyn is also survived by her extended family; Nonny and her husband Frank Hewes. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service Tuesday, July 5th, at the First Baptist Church of Burlington, corner of E. Broad and Stacy Streets, Burlington. The Reverend Thomas Bennett, Pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in Odd Fellows Mausoleum, Burlington.
