Evelyn Florance Hildebrandt, 85, of LaGrange, Ohio formally of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Kingston of Ashland Ohio on December 10, 2018.

Born September 26, 1933 in Mechanicstown, Ohio to Francis and Florance (Obermiller) McClelland of Valley City, Ohio.

Evelyn, a lifelong resident of LaGrange was married to Ronald Hildebrandt for 59 years and are heavenly joined together once again.

Evelyn spent many years working at LaGrange Party Center and she also taught bowling at Stoney’s Rainbow Lanes & Lounge Inc. in Elyria, Ohio. Evelyn retired as a professional florist and homemaker. Evelyn was a supporter of LaGrange Fire Department for 40+ years, as her husband Ronald was the Chief of LaGrange Fire Department. Evelyn was highly dedicated to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as she attended every sporting event and every county fair animal show. She enjoyed family, baking and being involved in anything she could be a part of.

Evelyn was truly blessed to receive an Angel Award from the 910th Airlift Wing (YARS) for her continuous dedication to the soldiers and for her excellent cookie making skills.

She is survived by her brother Donald McClelland of Hurst, Texas and sister Francis Dill from North Fort Myers, Florida and Roberta (Birdie) Rahrig from Avon, Ohio. Also surviving are: four children, Brian (Tammy) of Polk, Stuart (Treasa) of Nova, David (Julie) of Amherst and Cindy (George) Norton of Wellington. Evelyn is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, son Frank Hildebrandt, brother James McClelland, and sister Betty Abram.
