Evelyn Debberah “Debbi” Nestor, of Grafton, died on Friday, August 19, 2022. She was a daughter of James Harry and Elenor Lenore (Greene) Weekley, who preceded her in death. She was the wife of Francis Wesley Nestor. They were married on March 26, 1977 and were together 35 years until his death on July 1, 2012.
Debbi had three sisters. Victoria Elenor, “Vicki,” passed away in 1975. Tanta Rose was born in 1958 and lived for three days. Debbi’s youngest sister, Tiara Star Hill of Grafton, survives.
Debbi is survived by three children, Ray James “R.J.” Nestor (and wife Elisha), of Cheat Lake, Dr. Franchesca Victoria Nestor, of Delaware, OH, and Jeanna Leigh Carder (and husband Cole), of Bridgeport. Debbi considered her three children her greatest achievements in life.
Mrs. Nestor is survived by five grandchildren: Daisy Elizabeth Nestor, Luciana “Lucy” Bly Carder, Wesley John Nestor, Levi Jack Carder, and Andrew James “A.J.” Nestor. She loved her grandchildren beyond measure. Also surviving is a nephew, James William “Jim” Hill (and companion Samantha Zirkle) of Brownton, a niece, Heather Victoria Hill, of Morgantown, a grandnephew, Dylan James Hill, and two grandnieces, Kiera Lane Hill and Aria Paige Hill. Debbi’s nephew Robert Evan Hill preceded her in death, on October 11, 2021.
Debbi was a cheerleader during her time at Grafton Junior High and Grafton High School. She was the salutatorian of the Grafton High School class of 1967. With her sister, Vicki, and friends, she formed the “Kandi Kisses” singing trio and performed around the community.
Debbi was an active volunteer at her children’s schools and at church, especially with the Christmon tree and decorations. She loved Christmas and decorating in general, and was an excellent baker and cake decorator. Debbi was also a talented seamstress, making her own clothes and her children’s and her nephew’s Halloween costumes, with a list of costuming achievements that included a shark and Dino the Dinosaur. With her dear friend Jane Cost, she sewed costumes for the puppets that appeared in the 1995 Grafton High School production of The Sound of Music. Debbi loved animals and thought of them as family. Her favorite place to visit was Walt Disney World.
