Evelyn Catherine Wittman Maloney, age 95, of Dorsey Street Grafton, passed away, Wednesday July 14, 2010 at Grafton City Hospital. She was born in Grafton, March 7, 1915, a daughter of the late Harry L. and Iva L. (Boner) Wittman. In 1935 she married Billy E. Maloney who preceded her in death in July of 1953.

Mrs. Maloney retired from United Hospital Center in 1979 where she was an LPN. She was a member of Saint Marks Lutheran Church of Clarksburg and attended the Church of the Covenant in Grafton. She was past President of the Grafton Football Mothers Club from 1953-1955 when they were WV state champions, and past President of the Ladies Aid of the Lutheran Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was the mother of nine children; two daughters, Betty Jean (Maloney) Mutafis, who preceded her in death in 1994, and Nancy A. (Maloney) Rush of Bridgeport, WV; five sons, Bill Maloney and wife Judy, of Seattle, WA, Robert L. “Bob” Maloney and wife Ann, of Holboken, GA, James E. Maloney I, of Clarksburg, WV, Steven M. Maloney and wife Linda, of Farmington, WV, and Donald A. Maloney and wife Lynn, of New Castle, Maine; and two children who preceded her in death Chrissy and Tommy Dale in infancy; twenty one grandchildren, Billy Maloney III, Becky Maloney, and Cathy Maloney, of Portland, Oregon, Kristen Maloney, of Ca, Carl Patrick Maloney, of Oregon, Pat Maloney, of Texas, Larry Maloney , of WV, Monica Heidler, of MD, James E. Maloney II, of NC, John David Maloney, of Clarksburg, WV, Stephanie Maloney, Sara Maloney, Kayla Maloney, and Caterina Maloney, all of Bridgeport, WV, Nicky Mutafis, Mike Mutafis, Stephen Mutafis, and Argie Mutafis, all of Clarksburg, WV, John Robert “Rob” Rush II, of Bridgeport, WV and Kendra and Alllie Maloney, of Maine, twenty six great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. (Harry)Francis Linn Wittman, of Keyser, WV.
She was preceded in death by: two sisters, Margaret Lawson, and Mary Abel; and three brothers, Harry Wittman, John Wittman, and Buddy Wittman.
