Graveside Funeral Services for Evelyn C. Lee, age 93, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022, were held Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 11:00 am at New Palestine Cemetery.
Burial was in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. R.T. Buckley officiated the service.
Evelyn and Doyle owned and operated The Lee Hill Nursery on Jackson Landing Road for many years. She was a member of New Palestine Baptist Church. Evelyn was an avid gardener, quilter, seamstress, and she enjoyed to cook for her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Crosby and Agnes Entrekin Crosby; her loving and devoted husband of over 50 years, Doyle Lee; her grandson, Christopher Lee; sister, Evie Thompson; and brothers, James Crosby and Emmett Crosby.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, John (Barbara) Lee, Barbara E. (Eddie) Lofton, and Cindy (Mitch) Ratcliff; grandchildren, Jason (Vicky) Ratcliff, Benjamin Ratcliff, John (Mary) Ratcliff, Chuck (Jackie) Lofton, and Jonathan Lee, and Beth Batey; Great Grandchildren, Mitchell Ratcliff, Mary Frances Ratcliff, Walker Ratcliff, Jordan (Briana) Batey, Kazdan (Jenna) Batey, Mckenzee Batey, Kylee (Jason) Haueter, Eathan Batey, and Gracee Batey. Great Great Grandchildren, Hunter Ratcliff, Dylan Ratcliff, Mia Ratcliff, Gavin Ratcliff, Madelyn Lofton, Chase Lofton, Sarah Lee, Zinn Lee, Liam Batey, Nixon Batey, Cohen Batey, Noa Batey, Logan Powell, Murphee Batey, Riggins Batey, and Blake Haueter; brother, Ben Crosby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the devoted staff at Bedford Care; the employees at Sonic; and the Forrest General Hospice team, for the loving care, given to our mother during her illness.
