Evelyn Ashby Lambert, age 91, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Gainesville Health and Rehab Center in Gainesville, VA. She was born on June 15, 1924 in Warrenton, VA to the late Turner J. and Iris (Lawler) Ashby. Mrs. Lambert was a member of the Haymarket Baptist Church, Christian Women’s Club and Church Women United. She loved children and babysat most of her life. Predeceased by her husband Martin Luther Lambert; grandson: Aaron Moore, great granddaughter: Holly Long; sisters: Florence Lion and Virginia Mitchell; brothers: Wilton, Norman and John Douglas Ashby; and daughter-in-law: Carolyn Lambert. Survivors include five children: James L. Lambert and wife Marie, William H. Lambert, Thomas L. Lambert and wife Linda, Penny L. Moore and husband Warren and Brenda L. Corbin and husband Shaun; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
