In Loving Memory
Evelyn Arndt
July 8, 1934 to February 17 2010

Littleton resident Evelyn Arndt, loving wife of Douglas Arndt, passed away February 17, 2010.  Evelyn was born July 8, 1934 to Jamie Drusilla Poday and Roy Lafayette Terrell in Ruston, Louisiana. The youngest of three children and only daughter, Evelyn spent her youth in Ruston where she was an avid singer that volunteered to exhibit her singing ability to the Armed Forces Troops. Evelyn graduated in 1948 from Ruston High School. It was in Ruston she met Douglas, the love of her life, while he was high diving at a local swimming pool. Their love flourished and she followed Douglas to San Rafael, California where Douglas was stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base. They were married December 8, 1951 and soon had their first child Lydia Michelle in 1952.

Douglas was honorably discharged in 1954 and the young family returned to his hometown of Littleton, Colorado where they grew their family of 3 to a family of 6, raising daughter Teresa Lynn, son Mark Terrell, and daughter Cynthia Rene.
Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a source of inspiration and strength for her family, one who was tough and proud. Evelyn was a first class wife and mother that took pride in providing a meticulous home for her family. She also managed not only the household finances but also Douglas’s masonry business bookkeeping. Evelyn was a fantastic baker of fudge that her entire family loved at Christmas. Evelyn loved arts and crafts, and collected many artistic handcrafted items with which she proudly decorated her home. Evelyn was also an avid reader and loved lighthouses. She and Douglas often traveled the country and abroad enjoying the delight of beaches and lighthouses, relaxing reading her novels.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Drusilla and Roy Terrell, both brothers James Lafayette and Thelbert Roy Terrell and daughter Lydia Michelle England.

Evelyn is survived by her loving husband Douglas Arndt of Littleton, daughters Teresa Lynn deSilva of Oregon, son Mark Terrell Arndt, daughter Cynthia Renee Arndt of Colorado Springs. Her grandchildren, Michael Fitzgerald of Arizona, Patrick Fitzgerald of Parker, Angelene Trujillo of Littleton, Jimmie Hamilton of Parker Colorado, Fawn Galadriel and Rhea Athena both of Oregon, and many great grand children.

May the memories of Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandma always and forever be a blessing to all, and may perpetual light shine upon her for Eternity.
