Evea Lucindamae Juedes of Hebron, NE, daughter of Orval and Delta(Barry)Mellott was born February 7, 1920 on a farm in Jewel Co, KS seven miles southwest of Superior, NE. She was the third child of the family. She departed this life Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Blue Valley Lutheran Care Home in Hebron at the age of 92.
Evea was baptized April 21, 1934 and joined the First Baptist Church in Superior. With her parents, they moved to Superior, NE and there she graduated from the Superior High School with the class of 1937. She worked for the Superior Modern Laundry. In 1939, with her parents and sister Doris, they moved to Hebron, NE. Evea loved to cook, so she worked at several cafes as a cook and then she worked for the former Hested Store for six years.
On October 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Melvin Juedes at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Friedensau. On December 15, 1949, she was confirmed and joined Trinity Lutheran Church. They made their home on the groom’s farm west of Hebron. To this union were born two daughters Wanda Lynn and Valerie Kaye.
Evea spent many hours sewing for her daughters and her grand-daughter Kellie. She enjoyed making crafts and giving them away.
December 1,1989, Melvin and Evea moved from the Juedes Homestead to Hebron. They then transferred their membership from Trinity to Faith Lutheran Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Donald, husband Melvin in 1993, brothers Ralph and Doyl Mellott, and brother-in-law Harold Bandemer, and sister-in-law Mae Mellott.
Evea is survived by her two daughters, Wanda Torbeck and husband Thomas of Firestone, CO, and Valerie Palu and husband Michael of Grand Island, NE, grandchildren: Brandin Torbeck and wife Michelle of Longmont, CO, Kellie Antle and husband David of Grand Island, NE, and Alisha Torbeck of Evans, CO, great-grandchildren: Cameron Torbeck, Jayson Torbeck, and Jack Antle, sister Doris Bandemer of Omaha, NE, sister-in-law Ila Mellott of Superior, NE, nieces, nephews and friends.
