Biography
Eva S. Minovitch Sakolsky, MD, passed away at home May 9th, 2013. Eva was born October 27, 1923 in Southey, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was the third of eight children born to Fanny and Oscar Minovitch. She grew up on the Canadian prairie and then studied at Queens College and the University of Saskatoon. She received her medical degree from the University of Geneva in Geneva, Switzerland. While in Europe, she married Robert I. Sakolsky, MD. In 1963 after completing residencies in Internal Medicine and Pathology at Mt Sinai hospital in Miami, FL, Eve joined Bob in Brevard where they started the Pathology laboratory at Wuesthoff Hospital. Eva was an accomplished seamstress/quilter. She enjoyed travel, supported the arts and was active in Rotary.
She is survived by one daughter and three grandchildren.
