WINSTED – MORAN – Evan Paul Moran, 51, of Winsted, Connecticut, passed away at his home surrounded by the love and compassion of his family on January 30, 2016. Evan was born on September 6, 1964 in Torrington, CT; the son of the late James & Frances Moran. After graduating from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School, he became a licensed plumber and further pursued this passion. Evan enjoyed fishing, attending Toby Keith concerts, the annual Six Flag Fright Night and spending time with his family and friends. Many knew him as Santa Claus in the towns of Winsted & Norfolk for many years. Everyone knew him for his big heart and helping soul. Evan was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and most recently, a grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Nay) Moran; his two daughters, Arian Latimer (Ned), and Connor Moran; and his cherished granddaughter, Arlo Grace Latimer, all of Winsted. He is also survived by his brother, Gary McGhee of VA.; his two sisters, Deborah (McGhee) Fichtner of SC., and Holly (Moran) Woodruff (Ronald) of Granby,; brother-in-laws, Bobby, Billy, Andrew, Brendan, and their spouses; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Wendy (Christiano) Perlotto; and brother in laws, Evan, Kenneth, Michael and Jimmy Nay.
