Evan A. Smith, August 10, 1994 – May 15, 2018.

Evan Andrew Smith, 23, of Belton, TX, died May 15, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. Evan was born August 10, 1994 in Billings, Montana, the son of Raymond W. Smith and Amy (Zedan) Smith. He and his family moved to central Texas in 2000. He was a 2013 graduate of Belton High School and a 2017 graduate of Texas A&M University. He worked for Sewell Automotive Companies at Sewell Subaru of Dallas.

Evan had a passion for people, especially those with special needs. He was a mentor of several students with special needs in Belton and College Station, where he taught and ministered them. He loved the outdoors, whether it was sitting in a tractor for hours, raising and showing pigs in the local livestock show, or protecting his ranch from varmint. He was incredibly involved in his home church, Temple Bible Church, playing the drums in the youth band and participating in Impact, a local backyard Bible club each summer. He loved music; he would often be the one strumming a guitar around a campfire. He was actively involved in Young Life in Belton as a student and then as a counselor while attending Texas A&M. He was a member of Young Life Capernaum, which focused on sharing the gospel with friends that have special needs. For an idea of what he did at Young Life Capernaum, please see the video below, which explains part of what he did and is partially narrated by Evan.
