Those left to honor Evamae’s memory are her husband of over sixty-nine years, Richard; son, Jerry (Nancy) Bishop of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; daughter, Judy (David) Kemmann of Lombard, Illinois; her five grandchildren, Lisa (Mark) Vornwald, Eric (Susie) Bishop, Aimee (Ryan) Johnson, Debbie (Steve) Fuller, and Greg (Kathryn) Kemmann; fourteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Marjorie (Lloyd) Wessel of Newton; and her two brothers, Bob (Jan) Jordan of White Bear Lake, and Don (Marcia) Jordan of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Evamae (Jordan) Bishop, the daughter, of Elton and Maude (Bailey) Jordan, was born on January 27, 1920 in Newton, Iowa. She was a graduate of Newton High School in 1937.
On March 26, 1939, Evamae was united in marriage with Richard Bishop in Newton. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife; she had also worked at the Skiff Medical Center as a nurse’s aide.
Evamae at the age of 88, died on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing in Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
