Eva Virginia Zborill Randolph Howell, 95, of Salem, passed away on June 1, 2012 at Salem Care and Rehabilitation Center, Salem, WV. Eva had been in declining health for several months.
She was born August 24, 1916, in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of the late Frank D. and Minnie Butler Zborill. Orphaned at the age of eight, Eva made her home with many foster families until her marriage on July 1, 1939 to Warren A. Randolph of Salem. Together they owned and operated Randolph’s Ayshire Dairy until 1962. After Warren’s death in 1976, she moved to Richmond, Virginia. She is survived by her second husband, William L. Howell, whom she married on July 9, 1979. Surviving family include one daughter, Carolyn S. Randolph Ford and her husband Alston, Salem, WV; her grandchildren: A. Dowain Ford, Jr. and his wife Michelle, Aurora, WV; Jeffrey A. Ford and his wife Darla, Buckhannon, WV; Connie Randolph Bernabei and her husband Joe, Fountain Inn, SC; Jason Randolph and his wife Amanda, Salina, KS, and Honey Jo Randolph, Bridgeport, WV; her great-grandchildren Megan Ford Lipscomb and her husband Scott, Jeffrey A. Ford, Jr., Samantha Sue Ford, Jocelyn Bernabei, Joshua Bernabei, Scarlett Grace Randolph and Murphy Lee Randolph. She also is survived by one son, Robert Levone Lewis and his wife Joyce, Mineral, VA, a step-daughter, Tracy Howell Andrick and husband Dilman, three step-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by one son, Charles W. Randolph, one great-grandson, Padraig Clayton Randolph, four brothers, Walter F. Zborill, James Brewer, Jack Shaffer, John Zborill, and one sister, Mary Goodwin Wood. She was a member of the Salem Seventh Day Baptist Church since 1939. She worked for many years at the former Salem College cafeteria, and was well known for her cooking and baking skills. She was a foster grandparent at Harden Elementary School from 2004-2006.
