Eva M. Franklin, 84, passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with her family by her side. Eva had fought a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. She was born August 5, 1924 in Stevenage, England, daughter of the late William and Florence Hall.
During World War II, in England, she met Orville, a handsome young American soldier. They married in 1943 and were life partners for 65 years. As a military couple they lived in Spain, Germany and numerous places in America. Their retirement led them to Shalimar near their oldest son, Rex Franklin, and his wife Mary Lynn. Another son, Keith, lives with his wife, Christie, near Sacremento, California. A third son, Barry preceded her in death in 1966. Other family include her grandchildren; Noelle Mahone, Michelle Haddock, Keith Franklin, Jr. and Khristen Easterly. Eva was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren.
Under the soft motherly exterior, was a spirit of independence and self reliance that could overcome any obstacle.
The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate staff of Westwood Home Health Care and the ICU at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
