Upland: Eva Mae Miller, 94, passed away at 9:19 p.m. Tuesday at Miller’s Merry Manor, Marion. She was born in Upland, the daughter of the late Harvey and Elizabeth (Briner) Wilkins. She was a 1933 graduate of Upland High School. She married James Miller. He preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Miller was the receptioniist and bookkeeper for Dr. Taylor for many years. She later was a clerk at the Upland Pharmacy and receptionist at Jones-Smith Funeral Home. She also was active on the family dairy farm for many years. She was a member of the Upland United Methodist Church, Upland Order of Eastern Star, #411, and formerly a member of the home economics club and AMPI Dairy Association.. Survivors include her two sons, Thomas (Lamona) Miller, Marion, Rev. James (Phyllis) Miller II, Converse; eight grandchildren, Heather Miller, Indianapolis, Hadley, (Kelley) Martin, Lenoir City, Tn., Holly (Joe) Baker, Kamuela, Hawaii, Halden Martin, Knoxville, Tn., Lori (Jim) Goff, Converse, Jeff (Linsey) Miller, Kokomo, Debbi Miller, Denver, CO, Shari (Jason) Smith, Dallas TX; 13 great grandchildren. A brother, Ernest Wilkins; a sister, Bernice Polsey; and a granddaughter, Kris Piazza also preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to the Open Door Fellowship Church, 1388 N. 800 W, Converse, IN 46919.
