DURHAM Mrs. Eva Mae Johnson McLean, 99, of Durham, completed her journey to meet and be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. McLean was born on October 31, 1918, the daughter of the late Matthew Atkins Johnson and Rosa Belle Lucas Johnson. She retired from Belk Leggett after over 25 years of service. She was a member of West Durham Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 35 years. Eva was a very giving person and cared for numerous children in the family. She was a very loving person and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother who will be missed dearly by those blessed to have known her. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Woodrow McLean; daughter, Margaret M. Scott; brother, Manley Johnson and sisters, Rosa Meredith, Beulah Wilkins, Roberta Hall and Anna Mayes.
She is survived by her son, Woody McLean, Jr. of Rougemont; daughters, Joyce M. King of Garner and Brenda M. Daniel of Durham; eight grandchildren; Ray Scott (Robin), Paul Scott, Robin Jordan (Cecil), Michael King, Eddie Daniel, Teresa Daniel, Ward McLean (Kerry), Erica Fitzgerald (Patrick); nine great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.m. at West Durham Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pastor Greg Long, Rev. James Williams and Rev. Cecil Coates will officiate.
