Mrs. Eva Mae Portee (Pike) Davis, 89, of 609 Harrison Street, entered eternal rest on July 19, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Davis was born December 21, 1917 in Richland County, South Carolina to the late Tillman Portee and Inez Neal, and the step-daughter of the late Sally Portee. A resident of High Point most of her life, she was a 1935 graduate of William Penn High School. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and retired from Sample, Inc. in 1976. She also worked at the Spring Factory until it closed.
Her daughter, Kay Frances Pike, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted caretakers, Rev. Samuel and Doretha McCormick; two special nieces, Patricia Steed of Trinity, and Sadie Pike Nelson of Winchester, VA.; adopted granddaughter and great grandson, Bridget and Jarran Walls of High Point; cousin Ernest Harris of Hyattsville, MD, other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
