Eva Alice Wallen Lester, 88, Anderson, died May 13, 2007 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus-Anderson after a brief illness.
She was born July 2, 1918 in Clinton County, Kentucky to Oliver and Mamie Rule Wallen. She lived in the Anderson/Pendleton area since 1946. She was a homemaker and seamstress and for two years worked at Delco Remy Plant 10. She was a member of the United Church of God in Indianapolis for over 40 years. For many years, she had a monthly Bible Study in her home where she loved to cook for everyone. Her love of sewing, clothed her family and friends with many beautiful garments. Her love of growing flowers decorated her yard and home wherever she lived.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. David Doris Butler of Anderson; a grandson, Brian Penny Butler of Pendleton; Great grandson, Adam and wife Melissa of Ingalls; granddaughter, Leslie Butler of Franklin, Tennessee; brothers, John Wallen of Yorktown and Cecil Garnet Wallen of Knoxville, Tennessee; a special niece, Chesteline Jerry Jackson of Yorktown; nephews, Jim Wallen of Yorktown, Gayron Joann Wallen of Albany, Kentucky and Edward Wallen of Brunswick, Georgia. Also surviving are nieces, Ruth Goodpasture of Florida, Gail Kennedy of Knoxville and Marcia Tom Walker of Georgia. The family wishes to express our thanks to the caring staff at Bethany Point and to Dr. Sunil Juthani.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Lester in 1975; a son, Lynn Dennis Lester in 2001; and brothers, Otha and Robert Wallen; niece, Edith Reagan and nephew, Robert Lee Wallen.
