Eva Jean (Cassell) Peacock, 91, Fairmount, Indiana died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Colonial Oaks Health Care. Eva Jean was born in Marion, Indiana on April 28, 1926, the daughter of the late Henry BentonCasselland Ruby F. Harrold Cassell.
She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1944. Eva Jean retired from BelleFibrein in 1989 where she had been secretary for 42 years and was a former member of the Professional Secretaries International. She was a long-time member and volunteer at the Fairmount Museum and was also a member of the Fairmount Friends Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and crocheting. She married John Charles Peacock on June 10, 1995. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2005.
Eva Jean is survived by her sister, Lois Painter, Fairmount, IN, nieces; Jan (Jeff)Magner, Indianapolis, IN, KandiAugur, Westerville, OH, great-nieces and nephew; Meredith (David) Bowes, Andrew (Mishita) Magner, Kasey (Christian) Langwasser Lauren Augur,3 great-great nieces, and 2 great-great nephews. Step-children; Robert (Jane)Peacock, Fairmount, IN and Judy Smith, Kissimee, Fl, Jay Hunt, Ft. Wayne, IN, Wilson (Patty) Hunt, Kendalville, IN and Jayne (John) Sicks, Amhurst, MA, grandchildren; Todd (Traci) Peacock, Terri (Todd)Stroup, AaronLavanchy, Ft. Wayne, IN, Phil (Elaine)Lavanchy, Muncie, IN, Emily, Julia, and DavidLavanchy, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her, parents, husband, and brother-in-law, Charles L. Chick Painter, and nephew, Jim Augur.
